One of the teachers in my daughter’s school wanted to become a part time restaurant owner/manager. He bought an old run down place a little north of the main tourist area in downtown Siem Reap and wanted to do something different with it. I chose to turn it into an urban oasis with the whole interior made in concrete painted different shades of cool grey. To this was added furniture in steel and plastic with cushions in bright blue and green. The bar was at the centre of the long narrow room and the owner wanted it to be a special attraction as well as very slim. I came up with a rather unusual design for this.
